  • Our History

Backyard Wildstream began in the simplest way possible — with a single bird feeder in the garden.

At first, it was just a quiet hobby and a way to enjoy the wildlife visiting throughout the day. Over time, more feeders were added around the garden to attract a wider variety of native birds and animals indigenous to the area. Even without cameras, it quickly became clear how active and diverse backyard wildlife could be when given a safe and welcoming environment.

As our interest grew, so did our curiosity about the animals visiting during the day and night. After researching wildlife livestreaming and observation setups, we decided to install our first camera so we could watch and share those moments in real time.

What started as a simple feeder soon evolved into a dedicated wildlife-friendly space.

We began cultivating areas of the garden specifically to support local wildlife, including planting wildflowers and lavender to encourage pollinators such as bees and butterflies while also creating natural shelter and feeding opportunities for birds and small mammals.

Different types of food and feeding stations were gradually introduced to support a wider range of species throughout the seasons. With each addition, the garden became more active and vibrant, transforming into a small but thriving backyard habitat.

Today, Backyard Wildstream continues to grow as both a live wildlife project and a place where others can relax, observe nature, and enjoy the unpredictable beauty of the natural world — all streamed live, 24 hours a day.
